The TMS-Pro is the “flagship” of the FTC line of food testing instruments. When the application calls for precise force, position and speed control, the TMS-Pro is unsurpassed.
The “Pro” was designed as an affordable alternative to the very high priced test systems offered by competitors. With a capacity of 2500 Newtons, (550 lbs.) in compression or tension, the TMS-Pro can handle the toughest applications. The system comes complete with the award winning “Texture Lab Pro” software package and any size load cell of your choice. The TMS-Pro accepts the full and expanding line of FTC test cells including the industry standard, FTC Kramer Shear Cell as well as fixtures from our competitors.

Intelligent Load cells
Food Technology Corporation offers 10 load cells in capacities ranging from 0.2kgf (0.4lbf) to 254kgf (560lbf). Their high precision (± 0.1% of load cell capacity), together with FTC’s innovative load cell fixture design means you gain accurate performance as well as flexibility. Load cells can be easily interchanged without the need for lengthy set-up and configuration routines. The TMS-Pro instantly recognizes the load cell capacity and is automatically configured to the correct settings.
High Force Capacity in Tension and Compression
Durable and rugged, the TMS-Pro texture analyzer is designed for longevity. Capable of testing up to 2500N, the system remains a versatile solution for food texture testing. The TMS-Pro can measure both delicate and tougher applications; from assessing the texture of soft foods such as purees and pastes to those producing significantly higher forces, for example, bulk analysis performed on solid products.
Test cells, probes and fixtures
FTC has a comprehensive range of over 200 test cells, probes and fixtures faithfully replicating the conditions and actions foods are exposed to in order to accurately and repeatedly determine their textural characteristics.
Designed with the user in mind, Food Technology Corporation’s range of test probes and fixtures comply with ISO and ASTM international test standards and are also exceptionally easy to fix onto and remove from the TMS-Pro texture measurement system.

Powerful yet easy to use software for your PC
The TMS-Pro computerized food texture measurement system has been intuitively designed to make testing as simple as possible to set-up and perform. Through a Windows style format user-interface, Texture Lab Pro software offers full programming capability for experienced operators wishing to set-up their own tests to detect peaks, fractures, slopes and many other sample properties. The software also offers a broad selection of library test files for those interested in the most common food testing applications without wanting the hassle of manually programming the test routine. These library files include Gelatin Bloom, Compression, Penetration, Shearing, Extrusion and Snapping tests.
Real time graphing and display
Texture Lab Pro plots test data in real-time providing initial observational analysis of the test as it is being performed. Once complete, operators can;
• Overlay multiple graphs to compare test results
• Interrogate results using analysis tools to assess performance in more detail
• Generate a report showing graph and test data
• Export report directly to Microsoft Excel or to an external printer
