The Succulometer Cell is used to extract free fluid through compression of various products, such as sweetcorn and canned tuna fish.
The CR-1 test cell consists of a spouted cylinder and a close-tolerance piston. The cylinder has a diameter of 2-1/4 inches and is 3-1/8 inches high with a volume of 1.4 cubic inches.
A spout is formed at the base of the cylinder to drain the extracted fluid into a graduated cylinder. The piston is attached to the Force Transducer or Load Cell. Typically a constant force is applied for a given time and the expressible moisture is measure in a graduated cylinder.
