The TMS Mini Sample Vice, from FTC, is an excellent fixture for performing puncture, penetration and breaking tests on smaller samples, for example three-point bend tests on tablets.

The fixture consists of two vice jaws fitted to a base plate that can be adjusted, both horizontally and vertically, to firmly grip the sides of regular shaped samples between 1mm and 40mm in width. The fine precision alignment provided by this movement enables consistent set-up of test measurements and much greater accuracy in results.

"V" slots in the jaws accommodate table type products and prevent movement during puncture and penetration tests.

The mini sample vice is supplied, as standard, with a perspex knife edge to enable three-popint bend testing.

This fixture is only recommended for texture measurement applications below 250N.
