The Tension Test Cell is used for tensile measurement of stretch ability and/or breaking point of products that are of such composition to be sturdy enough to be held by serrated gripping jaws. Forces required for such tensile measurement are applied in an upward direction after the product has been secured in the jaws of the upper and lower grip units by the clamping screws. A sample centering screw allows for off-centered tensile measurements to compensate for non- symmetrical sample shapes. The attachment block has two mutually perpendicular sets of dove-tail securing tracks, allowing a sample gripping direction, which is either parallel or perpendicular to the front of the instrument. The upper grip assembly has a standard attachment block, which is coupled to the force transducer.
