Compression platens and platesCompression platens (or compression plates) are designed to completely cover the text sample throughout its entire deformation, with 100% surface contact.

FTC compression fixtures are available in a choice of circular platens with various diameters, and a large rectangular plate.

Compression testing can also be achieved with any of the range of FTC probes where the sample is small enough in comparison to the area of contact surface of the accessory, or the stroke of the crosshead does not result in penetration.

100mm x 150mm Rectangular plate for crush testing of large samples. Should be used with higher force capacity load cells only due to high forces generated. Ideal for packaging, whole loaves of bread, cross section samples of vegetables etc.

The University of Arizona’s Nutritional Sciences Food Lab acquired a Texture Analyzer from Food Technologies about 5 years ago. The company has a great product, which is tailored to food needs. 

We have used the Texture Analyzer for both research projects and as a tool to demonstrate to students how food manufacturers can employ objective testing in product evaluation to show how differing ingredients in the same product can affect quality attributes. Its use adds another dimension to the foods labs.

I have been working with FTC for the past 3 years, we bought in that lapse of time 2 texture analyzers with different probes fixtures for all kind of applications at our Monterrey Plant.
